In 1990, a group of people decided that they should race beds. Sponsored by Seealbach, “Bedlam in the Streets” had teams of five, a driver, and four pushers, race down the streets of Louisville. Most participants were from the local hotels.
Today, 36 years later, the event is going strong. Now indoors at Broadbent Arena at the Kentucky Expo Center, teams from local businesses, schools, and government organizations decorate their beds, compete in various categories for both theme, race performance, and the ever-popular “Cone Eater Award”.

The winner in the Champions Division over the past few years has been the Texas Roadhouse team. Things didn’t change this year, as they claimed the title in a close finale against Best One Tire team.

Despite strong storms moving through, a large crowd showed up for the event.
